Top 5 Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps on Android in the Middle East - Q1 2022

The first quarter of 2022 showed interesting trends for the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in the Middle East on the Android platform. Here’s a detailed look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, starting at around 21K in late December and peaking at nearly 29.4K by early March. Active users also saw an upward trend, growing from approximately 576K in the first week of January to about 675K by the end of March.

Careem – rides, food & more saw a similar pattern in downloads, beginning with around 21K at the end of December and reaching approximately 24.7K by the end of March. Active users fluctuated slightly but showed a general increase from about 330K in early January to around 335K by late March.

Bolt: Request a Ride had a notable spike in downloads in late January, reaching around 24.6K, before stabilizing around the 11K mark in March. Active users increased steadily from approximately 38K in late December to around 47K by the end of March.

Jeeny - جيني also showed growth in downloads, starting at about 7.5K in late December and climbing to approximately 7.8K by the end of March. Active users saw a gradual increase from around 29K to about 30K over the same period.

Lastly, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had relatively stable download numbers, ranging from around 6.4K to 7.2K throughout the quarter. Active users remained consistent, hovering around the 20K mark.
